Mankwitz Kurtz Investments and Sheldon S. Ohringer Form Castle Technology Exchange
Greenwood Village, Colorado (February 18, 2002).......Sheldon S. Ohringer and Mankwitz Kurtz Investments (MKI) announce their partnership and formation of Castle Technology Exchange (CTE), a specialized clearinghouse for telecommunications and data networking equipment.
CTE facilitates an efficient and cost-effective trade of products and value added services between telecom service providers and equipment manufacturers. CTE enables equipment manufacturers to reduce their excess inventory (of new and refurbished equipment), increase their cash balance, lower their direct sales costs, sell maintenance and license fees and retain current customers. The company also makes it possible for telecom and networking equipment buyers to pay lower costs for their technology purchases, obtain maintenance and support contracts for their equipment, and upgrade their equipment in today’s challenging environment.
In addition to brokering and procuring equipment, CTE also provides customers numerous value-added services such as installation, network integration, shipping and logistics, financing, maintenance and service warranties. This end-to-end service, provided by a highly skilled team of professional telecom executives, differentiates CTE from other traditional equipment brokerages.
CTE is aware of the many telecommunications companies and data networking product manufacturers with excess inventory of both new and refurbished equipment and software. Understanding the immense demand for these products both domestically and internationally, the CTE professional team facilitates the exchange of these products in a manner that positively impacts the bottom line and balance sheets of both the equipment buyers and sellers.
Mr. Ohringer has over 20 years of telecommunications industry experience, including serving as President of ICG Telecom Group, Inc. and President and CEO at FirstWorld Communications. In 1999, he was appointed Commissioner to the Colorado Commission on Science and Technology where he advises the Governor of Colorado on Internet and telecommunications issues. Mr. Ohringer is currently on the board of SNAP2 Corporation, a cable software company and has served on multiple national industry boards including the Association for Local Telecommunications Services (ALTS) and America’s Carriers Telecommunications Associations (ACTA).
